SHAMANIC SERVICES
REV. DR. CRAIG TALBOT
One Who Talks to Doves
843-957-3306
Dr. Craig Talbot is a trained Shamanic counselor and recognized medicine chief of eight Native tribes in South Carolina. Offering The 7 Sacred Rites of the Peoples, smudgings, pipe circles, drum circle, spirit circle, teacher of the medicine way, traditional tee pee demonstrations, ordained minister for wedding ceremonies, carrier of the sacred bundle. How may I serve you?
Earthw7, he says he is Santee Sioux. Says he is medicine man/ shaman for several state tribes here. The Kataba is the only federally recognized tribe here. Although there are remnants of others.
Anyone have any info? I don't believe he is native. Surprise, surprise.

Info on Talbot in this thread too: http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=2469.0 (http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=2469.0)

Never heard of him around here

The earlier thread we have on "his" group, they say he's not their medicine man but an honorary member who is "a bit kooky". The eight tribes bit seems in his own mind, it's not really even one.
Found this photo album of a wedding he did. Not sure what to make of his regalia, or the wedding cake with a dreamcatcher on it (and an owl on the dreamcatcher!)

This link describes him as descendant of the Waccamaw rather than Santee.

"Native American Spirituality $50+
Waccamaw–Thurs., 7 to 8 p.m. Craig Talbot
XREL 834 W01 (8 weeks) Jan. 12-March 1
The precepts of Native American spirituality, ceremony, protocol and the Lost Tribes Doctrines” will be explored. Recommended reading: Discoveries in Ancient America by David Allen Deal."
This is the book for the class, another crackpot claim that NDNs were Lost Israelites.

The press putting it out was a small independent in OK,Kherem La Yah Press. And Deal has his own site here with nonsense about Knights Templar and Noah's Ark in France.

Thanks Earth and educatedndn. It's pretty obvious he is a flake and a fake. Still he has his followers. :D ::)They must be smokin some of that SC wacky weed. Earth I already knew your answer, but I felt you needed to know he does claim Santee Sioux often.
-
I wonder what he really claims because just to claim santee does not mean much,
he would have to tells us if he belongs to the following:
Mdewakanton
Wahpeton
Wahpetu
Sisseton
all of these are Isanti or as white people say santee

The head of the Waccamaw sent me this disclaimer, reposted in its entirety.
