Miracle Native Healing (a Retreat )
« on: July 12, 2007, 09:39:04 pm »
There is already a thread with information on some of the organizers of these "healing retreats " posted in the Ect. section under the title "Is this confusing ?" . When I started that thread ,I was just concerned about the ethics of people advertising a healing retreat which included 8 Sweatlodge Ceremonies and a Sacred night ceremony , so I posted it in Ect . I see it is still being advertised all over the place , so I am posting this , more visibly , in  "Research needed" .

The older thread with a lot of information on some of the people behind Miracle Native Healing Retreats is here ;

http://newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=1042.0;all

They are now charging $25,000 a month , instead of the $5000 a month they were charging a few months ago . It looks like they
have a different more delux property than before . Maybe that is why they are charging so much more  ( ? )

Here is the older advertisement
http://web.archive.org/web/20070503161601/http://www.invernesstechnology.com/Retreats/healing.htm

here is the current one

Some of the on line allegations , about one of the people affiliated with these retreats having a criminal record , are no longer on line through the links in the thread, "Is this confusing " , though what was there is still  copied and pasted into the thread .

I want to stress that all information found on line needs to be double checked , and *some* of the allegations I have found on line , may be entirely false. People can change . - However - the allegations , together with known past history , are serious enough , that vulnerable people in need of healing , have right to know , that some caution is needed .

Looks like they moved the whole operation, it's not the same place. The other was Residential A&D, now it looks like they have a new agenda aside from a new retreat. Some of the claims edge on questionable. To "cure" ADD and AFS in 4 weeks is quite a stretch. Much of their medical "facts" are a stretch. They should bottle that. Most of the players remain the same. They were charging for sweats last time, I guess it is included in the price this time. Pretty stiff price, apparently they have placed this to another income group. frederica

I think the Sweat Lodge Ceremonies were always advertised as a part of a package which included accomadation , food , recreation , and non traditional counselling services. That's why I posted the thread in Ect and called it "Is this confusing". I see at least one of the links in that older thread , that had crucial information is defuct .

http://www.invernesstechnology.com/Retreats/healing.htm
The current webpage says;

Quote
Elders associated with the Healing Retreat are Government of Alberta Licensed Native Spirituality clergy and members in good standing of Alberta Council of Native Spirituality Elders.

One of the links in the middle of reply # 1 , in the thread "is this confusing" , explained the Native Spirituality Church was founded by a non native person refered to as " his excellency Charles " , and also that it was Charles who ordained the first Correctional Services Native Spirituality Elder , as a clergy in 2005 . This link no longer works .

The information about who founded this Native Spirituality Church , together with who Charles is , ( explained in mind boggling detail in " Is this Confusing?" ) is needed to put the claims in the current advertisement into perspective .

I still have all the original webpages saved . I guess if anyone felt it was necessary , I could try ( though I have never done it before ) and post some screen shots of the old webpage .

(  edited because the order of the wording of the 4th paragraph made it hard to understand )
