Michael Greywolf

I´ll put this under "research needed" since I would very much like to hear if other people have got any knowledge of this man.

Michael Greywolf, Eastern Shoshone, has visited Sweden and Norway for many years to sell sweats and other ceremonies. He claims to be a healer.
People have told me that he makes about 8000 USD cash each time which has been used to build himself a house. He also charges for letting people talk to him - about 10 - 20 USD for about 10 minutes. (Talking to a REAL Ndn is expensive...!)

When I was in Norway I talked to the two women who travelled with him. They were close to tears because of his terribly disrespectful way which I would call mental abuse. When I asked why they didn´t just tell him to **** off, they said he had a mission to fulfill and that everything he said came from above.... I wasn´t even allowed to translate his presentation since I could disrupt the message from above!

I met an old Shoshone guy living in NM. Even though he lived so far from his people, he knew about Mike and his bad reputation.

I´d appreciate any info on this man, maybe there are Shoshones here who know something? I am very concerned about what I´ve heard recently from women who have been mentally abused.

I will let you know, what I can find out about this guy, I have family with the Eastern Band. I have never heard of him, and its a strange sorta name for one of ours.

I have been to one of Mike´s lectures where he spent 15 minutes to tell us that water is good for us and for the plants (Thank GOD I found out about that!) And on a question from a woman in the audience: "Can anyone become Indian?" he answered: "Yes, if you leave your job and stay home and look after your man!" All the women in the audience wrote this down.

Two months later, one of them did leave her job and moved to Canada to find an Indian she could take care of so that she could become Indian, too ....never heard from her since...

Couldn't find anything under Greywolf's legal name of Michael Garvin.

Anyone else notice that Michael Greywolf is also the name of a character from a werewolf novel? Check out the writing, it's as much a stroke book (excuse me, "erotica") as it is a horror novel.

Unfortunately, Michael " Greywolf " Garvin, is an enrolled member of Wind River Shoshone.

Lets say he is one that has gone bad, he does not have the right to conduct any ceromony,  keep well away from him and spread the word.

If I can get anywhere he is in Europe, I will, and meet with him face to face, any info, let me have it.

And I appologise on behalf of my people, for his fraud

Actually, there was an article in a magazine here about him with a photo of the sweatlodge - which he has covered with a giant *plastic* sheet!! I heard someone got really ill in there some time ago.

Greetings I know of Mike Garvin (graywolf) yes he is a mixed Blood and he is not a medcine man or Sundance leader,I have know mike for quite a long time and yes he does sell ceremonys ,This man is confused and claims that he is supported by the Eastern Shoshone Tribal council,He does lectures and workshops ,in other parts of the states. Unlike his claim to be a medcine man he is only a Sundnacer and goes to Big Mountain in Dine country. His wife is a Gros Venture from Montana ,both go to Norway and do sweats and sells certain ceremonies and yes he does have a nice fine house and yet he doesnt work ,But he is also an artisit and does shows in Jackson Hole .wyoming and has a PR person who repesnts his work , His mother works for the Eastern Shoshone Recovery Center in wyoming on the rez , All in all he is very strong headed and disrespects women and critizes others in what they do. He only thinks that hes a medcine man and talks of elders that have passed on and claims to have been taught by them. This man is a fraud and nothing else ,AHO!!! if you would more info  just let me know and i can see where hes next trip to Norway is ,
