SOLAR POOL AND HOT WATER HEATING
with Donna Napolitano

Solar hot water heaters use the sun to heat either water or a heat-transfer fluid in collectors. A typical system can reduce the need for conventional water-heating by about 2/3rds. This seminar will explore solar hot water systems as well as solar pool heating systems which are not only better for the environment but can also extend the length of the swimming season.
Donna Napolitano has been involved in the Solar Industry since 1982. She is co-owner of Mechanical Energy Systems, Inc., located in Canton. MES specializes in thermal solar applications including solar water heating, solar air heating and solar pool heating systems.

The Dances of Universal Peace are a pathway to open our hearts into joy, love, and compassion, creating community through music and movement. Founded in the late 1960's by the American Sufi, Samuel L. Lewis, the Dances of Universal Peace have become an international phenomenon.  Dances reflect spiritual traditions from around the globe. No experience is necessary as we all learn together. Loose, comfortable clothing recommended. Call Cliff at 248-410-1762 for more information.
Certified Dance Leader Robin Mallor has 17 years' experience facilitating these spiritually uplifting dances in varied settings.

Saturday, July 19th, 2pm–8pm
PINE RIDGE RESERVATION BENEFIT
with the Stone Peoples Lodge *
Cash, Clothing and Other Donations Appreciated

The EAC is pleased to host a benefit event to support the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota. From these Lakota reservations come the traditions and spiritual ways that inspire many of us. Every year, members of the local community go to Pine Ridge to be a part of the sun dancing ceremony. This year, we are hosting a community pot-luck and drum circle to send prayers and support to the sun dancers and the reservations– so bring a healthy dish (preferably vegetarian) to pass, and something to make music with! We are asking for donations in the form of cash, clothing, tools, small appliances, and other necessities for the reservation. For more information, please email lodgecouncil@gmail.com.

Here's one group I found calling themselves the Stone People Lodge, and they call themselves neopagans. As you can see by their forum, they are mostly wicca in belief, with some bits of NDN ideas thrown in.

Don't know if this is the same group doing sweats for the Upland Hill group.

Lodge Teachings
Fri May 30 - Sun June 1, 2008
Sweat Lodge Teachings at Four Quarters
to benefit the Sweat Lodge Site
     at Four Quarters

An intensive weekend of focus on the
Art and Ceremony of Sweat Lodge
and the creation of our own personal Medicine.

Sweat Lodge is an important ceremonial at Four Quarters and reflects the diversity of cultures that have developed traditions of the sweat as spiritual practise. We offer open Wiccan and Eclectic sweats every other Month throughout the year and and at our major ceremonial gatherings. Please see our Wheel of the Year Calendar for complete listings of open sweats at Four Quarters.

We sometimes host traditional sweats on an invitational basis out of respect. Medicine Lodge is not a traditional ceremonial. It is hoped that it may become a bridge to traditional ceremonials for those who are so called.

Lodge Teachings is a weekend of focus on Sweat Lodge, a practicum for the ceremonial role of the Sweats in your life. And an opportunity to use these ceremonials in developing your own personal Medicine.
This weekend is not intended to prepare you to conduct Sweat Lodge nor is it a formal Vision Quest; but it will prepare you to grow in your own life through these ancient and diverse traditions.

Lodge Teachings will begin Friday with staff arrivals for opening setup, we urge you to be here by 9:00AM Saturday morning. Saturday will be filled with the Sweats, drum, song and prayer. The event will allow for individual all night Prayer Fasts on the Land of Four Quarters, and this commitment is encouraged of those attending. Sunday morning drum and sing; closing sweat will end around noon, Sunday.
