a true story
« on: January 30, 2009, 02:12:12 pm »
I was in one of those incredibly slow lines at Walmart the other day
and there was a woman on the cell phone in line in front of me.
Her husband stood silently by.

A few moments later my cell rang, it was my youngest son. I like to force him
to practice speaking or at least understanding cherokee (I am not an expert speaker
by any stretch of the imagination but I can do simple things).

The lady finished her call, and stood there staring in disbelief at me as I spoke in cherokee
over the phone.

After I said "donadogohunee" and hung up..the turned to her husband, rolled her eyes and with an exasperated sigh said

........................................... "Foreigners!"

it was all I could do to keep a straight face.
