The Scandinavian Center for Shamanic Studies is a small independent network, started by Jonathan Horwitz and Annette Høst, founded on teaching and encouraging the practice of shamanism. The Center is a center in the spiritual sense of the word, as the fire in the center of a council circle, as the center of the circles of ripples in a still pond after a pebble has been tossed. It is here ideas are born, and our activities are coordinated, but our courses are held in various locations in Europe and occasionally in North America.
We started in 1986 when Jonathan taught his first introductory workshop. Our courses are centered on learning to use the ritual tools of shamanism, experiencing shamanism as a spiritual path, shamanic healing, and embracing the Circle and all of Nature.
As you browse further you will find several articles written by both Jonathan and Annette, in English and Danish. Some of these articles do not exist in both languages as of yet, but as time goes on they will. Also new articles will appear at this site. But in actual fact only so much can be said or written about shamanism. To begin to understand it, like Life, it must be experienced. To this end, we have also included descriptions of our courses, and our workshop calendar. We hope they will interest you.
Walk well...

http://www.shamanism.dk/I know next to nothing about these people but notice with interest that they recommend The Way of the Shaman, a Guide to Power and Healing by Michael Harner as "We feel that this is the best introduction to practical as well as classic shamanism".
I remain curious about them and would be interested to know more.
