named Richard Boylan.

boy we sure run the gamut here!
OH yeah I am familiar with Richard Boylan. So he is on the Star Knowledge bandwagon now....
He was at one time real big in UFO circles however I would say for now from my point of view the UFO "arena"
has "dried up" substantially from what it was in the 80's and 90's.
Here are some links regarding Boylan. I have not corrected any mis-spellings in the quotes
from the website:
http://www.drboylan.com/While Boylan states on his site, part of v-j-enterprises ::
http://www.v-j-enterprises.com/rboylan.html" if you happen to be a scientist or psychologist who is a well respected professional in your field, this past time can be deterimental to your ability to do your job. " and
"Dr. Richard Boylan living near Sacramento in California, was stripped off his license to practice psychology in this state.
He believes that this occurred because of his public stance to sharing information about UFOs."
Having worked professionally as an astronomer at a planetarium that I helped to build and having instructed adult education astronomy courses over many years I never once encountered any type of opposition from either press or my work environment regarding any interest I had in answering UFO questions coming from people that thought they had observed "something".
It was expected that I handle the issue and answer those questions regarding what they were observing. I addressed the topic in my astronomy courses and I have taken many calls and e-mails from people who thought they were seeing or had observed a UFO. I was around during Gulf Breeze -and I was familiar with the politics of MUFON.
I still receive the occasional e-mails through my astronomy_gal web site on this or that bright thing up in the sky. No, this interest in what other people were claiming to see never impacted my work but then I am not a Psychologist with people to care for and appointments to keep and I was expected to keep abreast of it all during the hey day of UFOs.
Still, I never knew where people were coming from with this "opposition" business. I certainly never had any nor did I witness it in my professional circles. Matter of fact, the last time I was visiting a LASER Ranging crew in Miami (before Hurricane Andrew) those guys were telling *me* about unusual things they had observed in the sky and they contracted for NASA, LASER Ranging the moon.
He seems to be continuing that long held view that if you show an interest or talk about UFOs you are hauled away by some government entity that is super secret or you get discredited as a nut case. But I suspect in reality he was unable to tear himself away from the perceived UFO "issues" to work as a Professional Psychologist see quote again: "this past time can be deterimental to your ability to do your job. "
I imagine the talk circuit does take up allot of ones time. I and an astronomy professor I worked with would frequently joke that we could make much more money if all we did was cater to the UFO circuit.
