http://www.theclanofthehawk.org/2014-first-business-meeting.htmlThe first meeting of the year for the Clan of the Hawk was held on April 27th at the home of Chief Ralph Swett. There were 29 people in attendance. The meeting opened at 12:30
Chief began with the introduction of Anashownee’ Hiawatha a.k.a. Chuck Demars, a Mohawk Spiritual Healer from the Long House of the Wolf-raven Clan, who then opened the meeting with a prayer.
Chief also welcomed Chief White Cloud from the North American People of the Dawn who came out of the nursing home for the day to be with us. It was an honor to have him....
Chuck Demars gave us a talk on the comparison of how clan meetings are held in the Six Nations Mohawk group. The protocol in their clan is quite strict and when a Chief speaks it is regarded as spiritual. He said, "There is to be no rustling of papers, no writing or talking. When the Chief is speaking, all attention is givne to him." He spoke about the duty of the adults of a clan to pass on the traditions to the younger generations, as they were passed to them by their elders...
