I am familiar with the ‘Twisted Hairs’ and their methods as I knew a few of them in San Diego, CA. They tried to get their hooks into me when they found out I was interested in my Cherokee heritage. I met Greg Bright Eagle at a drum making class, and he proceeded to cheese his way towards indoctrinating me, claiming to be a Métis medicine man. In ignorance I started working with him, but as soon as we got into any real detail I established that he was full of it, and so was the Dear Tribe. One dead give away is that they do not speak a tribal language, do not know the culture, are often negative about a specific culture, and do not recommend practicing one specific way of spiritual faith. In my case I was interested in Cherokee legends, the language, and the warrior ethos within the Cherokee culture. These were important to me as a young Marine. It seems all of Harley’s people run the same game, and I attribute it to what they were taught. I would only give one word of caution. These people are cult based, and some may be violent. They are known for exploiting young adults, and people that lack personal confidence. I had to often intervene between these people and unknowing young teens (I lived down the hall from them). If Heather knows of Greg Bright Eagle (dead now), then she is old school ‘Swiftdear’. Just think through any actions you take, and make sure you are legally covered, as well as using common sense.
