National Aboriginal Day
« on: June 21, 2010, 02:21:55 pm »
Tansi;

Today, June 21, 2010, is recognized as National Aboriginal Day in Canada.  This is an opportunity to Honour the various Aboriginal Peoples and helps to share an understanding of our peoples and issues, with our fellow citizens.

Activities are being held in many communities, throughout Canada.  In this region, the Flying Dust First Nation held their activities, last week, on June 16, in order for people to be able to attend activities in larger cities.  For the past several years, many schools in our region attend the Flying Dust gathering, in order for the students to become familiar with our Cultures.  Although I was already committed to school activities, in Green Lake this year, my wife and I have made presentations at all of the Flying Dust First Nation Aboriginal Day celebrations that have been held previously.
