Rolando Yxcot Pérez

Does anyone have info about this man? Just curious....

He is supposed to be a Maya Kiché Ndn from Guatemala. The people organising his presentations promote him as a "priest" or an "ajqij".

Rolando will be doing presentations and ceremonies in Sweden.
He speaks about the 2012 prophecy, the Maya Calendar, about "El nuevo B´actum" (?) and is also doing Maya Ceremonies.
The price for a weekend with Rolando is about 400 USD. That´s without lodging.

The only sites that I found on him were Swedish ones. All of them except one say that he will be at a music festival. None of them except that one describe him as doing ceremony or workshops. I wonder if there could be a Swedish organizer misrepresenting or misunderstanding what he is.

The term for a Mayan priest is accurate. I did find a good source online that gives some background.

Contemporary Maya spirituality: the ancient ways are not lost By Jean Molesky-Poz
 http://books.google.com/books?id=3yGVdWIXtbwC&pg=PR19&lpg=PR19&dq=rolando+ixcot&source=bl&ots=7_EeYx_LQf&sig=43jyYalmC86G_pMtyqfhKZiAVT0&hl=en&ei=OtcxTvWNCsXi0QGu_tXxCw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBgQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=rolando%20ixcot&f=false

Notice the author discusses several things about their priests. They don't work for or expect pay, and they stay in their communities where needed. But it also mentions there are some younger people who go out and claim to be Maya priests who aren't properly trained, or are lured by commercialism. The photo I saw of Yxcot on Swedish sites don't show a young man though.

Thanks for the info, Al.
Yes, it is probably the organiser wishing to cash in. It has happened before....I´ve seen pow wow dancers turning into anything from Chiefs to medicinemen when they are advertised over here.
Wonder if Rolando even knows.....
