I'm new here as I've stated, but even from an historical standpoint.. Crazy Horse's pipe? Really?

But what is this "Nawtsamaat Alliance" spoken of in the article? I did a search and there's no forum topic on it and an online search reveals very little except that that Occupy Georgia has endorsed it. Which in in my honest opinion raises questions. Anyone know anything about it especially since Phil Lane is a very active participant?

Am I and the other Natives here the only ones without a personal prophecy? Seems like it. I mean, I have a vision of the future, but I can't write Nostradamus (Go Fighting Irish!) style prose and go into details like these guys (Black Elk and Crazy Horse) supposedly did. Am I wrong in thinking 99% of it is embellishment?

I keep finding myself looking at that supposedly Interfaith group of 8 people... described as "a priestess of the Goddess, a rabbi, a Sufi, a Methodist minister, a Lutheran pastor, a Quaker, a Hindu, a Muslim"...  but as far as I can tell... I think 7 of the 8 representatives handling that pipe are white. So... even though some of those religions come out of "white" or mixed-ethnic cultures, 5 or 6 of them could or should be People of Color. Something feels really off here.

I have this bad feeling that in almost all, if not all, of those instances we are probably not looking at people who were raised in those cultures, but white people who converted as adults and are now being chosen by white people to represent to other white people, leaving the original cultures out of it entirely. This is not even getting into the Crazy Horse claims, the pipe and bundles and the protocols about that... I'll let the Lakota folks handle that.... *smh*

But, a Catholic Church full of white people (plus a few token brown people), claiming to represent for world religions, including Indigenous ones?!!

One of these websites says he did pipe ceremony in a Catholic Church with a random bunch of non-Natives. The other thing is this upcoming gathering where they're advertising he's going to do it again.

Envision a priestess of the Goddess, a rabbi, a Sufi, a Methodist minister, a Lutheran pastor, a Quaker, a Hindu, a Muslim, Native American leaders and representatives of several other faiths passing around a pipe that once belonged to Crazy Horse, making prayers and sharing insights as the pipe came to them. All in a Catholic Church!

This is a time when prophecies of Crazy Horse and other elders are being fulfilled, Lane said. After 500 years of darkness a spiritual renewal is bringing people of many faiths together to protect the Mother Earth. So Native people are beginning to share more of their ways with us. Bringing out the pipe was one manifestation of that.
