Gary Busey the actor
« on: February 15, 2013, 03:34:54 pm »
Gray Busey claimed to be adopted into the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and the tribal council here says that never happened, we know that he was adopted by a family on Standing Rock and he made a man named Bobby Primeau (who is an enrolled member)his adopted brother here but he was not adopted into the tribe.

Gary Busey was born in Goose Creek (now Baytown), Texas, the son of Sadie Virginia (née Arnett), a homemaker, and Delmer Lloyd Busey, a construction design manager.

I couldn't bear to watch the whole thing, but a few years ago I saw him on TV with plastic shamans, participating in fake ceremonies with other white people, dressed up in his crazy idea of regalia.

Years ago he suffered horrific head injuries in a motorcycle accident that nearly killed him. He was pretty normal before that, so I think brain damage would be a good excuse for his behavior and decisions he makes.

In his defense, he's probably so concussed that he genuinely doesn't know that he's been made a comedy prop for a bunch of fake shamans.

But in ANY case, you would find that no tribal council would acknowledge the "adoption" of anyone, since adoption is purely a family-specific social custom, not a formal extension of citizenship. See: http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=1294.0
