My observation is 400-500 years of some hard times for Indians didn't stop their cultures, spirituality, languages and customs, so these white shamans and former Cherokee princess' sure the hell aren't. The average person sees these fakes and their followers going through all the absurd rituals and wearing their chicken feathers and nothing changes with these people. They don't impress anyone and more often than not are seen as slightly dysfunctional by the average person. They remain somewhat marginal in society. Granted, some do some real harm to people and on occasion their is some justice done to them. I can't relate to the cultural insult of these crooks because I am not Indian. I do know as a Veteran there are some organizations that 'nail' fake SEALS and Green Berets and this forum is pretty much doing the same thing. The problem with this type of thing is you never really get to see many direct  results but they are manifesting, slow but sure. I would say the average non Indian reader and participant here is fairly intelligent. We have alot of friends and family and we do talk to people and send a few emails and write a few letters now and then. The word is slowly spreading. I wonder what the tally to date would be for all the exposed frauds this forum has done and those brought to light that need serious questioning and further investigation?

Kevin, there has always been frauds and pretenders.  But I think in the last 25 years it has become much worse.  People as you say, pretending to be Navy Seals, also the one just pretending to have been in a war zone, winning Congressional Medal of Honor.  even just being a veteran.  But further than that producing false documents of Colleges, Jobs and so on.  It's has become more prevelant, maybe the documents are easier to obtain,  I don't know.  But the bottom line is for personal advancement.  I don't thin the Plastic Shaman business is any different.  And that goes for the NDNs that do this also, they know they are not suppose to, but choose to, not only for the money, but they are doing it with non-Ndns, both both here and in Europe,   and as someone said before, they are treated like "Rock Stars".   There will always be people that are die hard followers.  All the Forum can do is offer the information to the people' that still have a brain.  They can make up their own mind.   So, IMO, it's just a matter of  making the information available.   The rest you have no control  over what they choose to do.

A new documentary: White Shamans and Plastic Medicine Men

The University of Washington Native Voices Program made this documentary in 1995.

Maybe someone can let us know how the authors feel about it being available for free. I'm in two minds about leaving the links up, since it is still for sale.

More information about that video in this thread: http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=3093.0

A 25-minute version is on YouTube since 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19JAMhAzXms

(I kind of wonder what the missing five minutes were about, since the version for sale is 30 minutes long?)
