Songbyrd, who are you? Please introduce yourself. What position do you hold, are you
the group lawyer? Are you Parisha herself?

Parisha uses "Songbird" in one of her "teachings", perhaps more.

This group is a destructive, dangerous group. Thank you for reviving this thread,
now more of us can learn about it. A sweat lodge death, a buried in sand death, there also
has been a suicide.

My guess is that Songbyrd is Deborah Adler.

Deb Adler is a devoted cult member. She is all over the web pimping for Parisha.

Here Deb is misusing the Its Get Better Project in yet another attempt to spread the word of Parisha:

I want to share with you a quote from a woman of both Native American and European heritage, known to many as an ambassador for peace, an advocate for human rights, and my spiritual mentor for over 25 years. Her name is Grandmother Parisha, and I’ve never met anyone more inclusive, more accepting than her.

Yes, I have almost 30 years of knowledge about Parisha. You openly admit here that you "do not have first hand knowledge of her" - yet you don't mind trashing her based on a bunch of rumors and gossip that has never been substantiated. What urls are you going to produce? The glut of articles from the one reporter who has been trying to convince the world of his bullshit because he thought he could make a reputation for himself on a scandal? He totally ignored statements made by her sister and brother - there is no truth in the article that he supposedly interviewed -the uncle who was dying of brain cancer. He also has totally ignored any other credible sources who refuted his crap. You ought to read the comic books he writes - his "hero" kills his own brother.

The real story here is that Cleveland Plain Dealer's boy wonder, Mike Sangiacomo, asked to study with Parisha and when he was turned down, the vengence began....

"I am told by one who followed her teachings for over 10 years that those who join her must give up all personal belongings and turn anything they earn over to her" What a crock of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your source of information is clearly deluded. Like I said, I've been around for almost 30 years and no one was ever asked to give up all their possessions, give all their money or any of the rest of those bullshit claims. Have you ever noticed when some people change their minds or decide they want to follow a different course of action, instead of just making the adjustment they have to make someone wrong?

What I find even more interesting is that people here put so much stock in speculation. What a shame.

Ms. Adler, since you know Patty Taylor for almost 30 years, perhaps you can help by trying to clear these matters up and telling what you firsthand. 30 years would mean you are at least in your 40s or 50s, and it does not help matters or make you look good when you explode into rants of childish cursing. It certainly does shatter the sooper spirchul pose of this cult though. The same is true of trying to smear a reporter for the Plain Dealer.

Could you tell us how you met, and what spiritual teachings Taylor has taught you? What ceremonies? Did those include sweatlodges and burying people in the sand?

How much have you been charged or paid Taylor? How much are others charged?

How many members are in the group? We see reports of members in AZ, Ohio, and Canada, but many of the claims seem inflated.

You would have been a member at the time the first person died from being suffocated, and also at the time the second member died in a sweatlodge. What is your account of what happened both times?

Perhaps a good measure of the cult's decline is that where they once claimed several thousand members when they only had 300, today her facebook page can only get a little over 100 likes. Taylor is also now pitching herself mostly as a business coach, though the spirchul pose and claiming to be Cherokee are still there. She has much more of a web presence to troll for marks since her group has declined so much. She also seems to be using or encouraging her followers to advertise on her behalf by setting up blogs with them promoting her.

It does give some insight into what she peddles, vague self help stuff that doesn't have any resemblance to Cherokee or Buddhist beliefs as she claims. Silliness like auditing and mental rehearsal.
https://andrewrogers9673.wordpress.com/tag/parisha-taylor/

One of the sadder blogs is by a victim, Paige Martin, who died in Taylor's sweatlodge. Martin went into an extended racist rant against NDNs, including smearing someone fairly well known as an abuser of his wife and kids. She also made an interesting admission, that Taylor used to be in Scientology.
http://myjourneywithparishataylor.wordpress.com/

On Taylor's website she reminds me quite a bit of Lynn Andrews with all the grandiose contradictory claims.

She, along with her followers, and her family have various corporate endeavors, not all of them active now. I doubt I have everything listed here.  I've not looked over all the paperwork, I do see that some of them are investment companies.

In Nevada:

Officer Name    Officer Type    Entity Name
PARISHA TAYLOR   Manager   RESTORATION ACADEMY, LLC
PARISHA TAYLOR   President   YOUNGBLOOD INVESTMENTS AND ENTERPRISES, INC.
PARISHA TAYLOR   President   GREAYSTONE INTERNATIONAL, INC.
PARISHA TAYLOR   Director   SKYWARD MARKETING, INC.
PARISHA TAYLOR   Director   RESTORATION PROFESSIONALS INCORPORATED
PARISHA TAYLOR   Treasurer   RESTORATION PROFESSIONALS INCORPORATED
PARISHA TAYLOR   Director   CORNERSTONE GROUP MANAGEMENT, INC.
PARISHA TAYLOR   President   CORNERSTONE GROUP MANAGEMENT, INC.

Ohio:
RED SAND LLC
BEAUTY LLC
THE CENTER FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT WINNERS CIRCLE INTERNATIONAL ( registered trade name that is cancelled)

Arizona:
Natures Way Cleaning and Restoration
49862 BATESVILLE RD LLC
83749128, LLC

Endless blog presence out there, testimonial blogs, I notice her devotees seem to write in the same style.

In videos of followers I notice the women wear similar outfits, shapeless large tops. They also have short hair. This might be coincidence, or it might be a cult uniform. Different than how their cult leader dresses.

Parisha has been involved in Scientology, and it looks like her instructions to devotees is based on that. Her rhetoric and behavior are definitely influenced by Scientology. This is not a good thing, Scientology is incredibly invasive and horrible. A good place to learn about it is http://www.xenu.net/

I have been in Cherokee, North Carolina with Parisha to re-visit her homelands where she was raised by her purebred Cherokee Grandmother. I was privileged to witness the respect with which Elders and local native people approached her. If there was any question about her authenticity it would surely have surfaced in the manner in which these people related to her – in the heart of the Cherokee homelands.

"Purebred Cherokee"?! WTF!? Who talks that way?!  Never mind that it's a lie; she's talking about NDNs like dogs. That's just evil.  Racist and evil.

We know her b.s. has nothing to do with any NDN reality. Her genealogy has been done and has been reported on, she is not Cherokee. http://blog.cleveland.com/pdextra/2010/05/new_age_leaders_heritage_chall.html She presents her lies in an incredibly racist manner and teaches her students to do the same thing.

Although we don't need it, I'll post any genealogy records as I find them.

Here is her mother:

Parisha's mother was named Mary Elizabeth, birth name Riley. Her name is Elizabeth in this census. Everyone in this family, including her parents, including her mother Effie that Parisha claims was "purebred Cherokee" is listed as white.

Here is Effie again, the woman that Perish (Parisha) claims is Cherokee. This again lists her as white, along with both her parents. So these last several posts show three generations back: Perish's mother Mary Elizabeth, her grandmother Effie, and her great grandmother Elizabeth. All white.

I know Perish has all sorts of bogus claims, but facts are facts. Just as it is fact that Perish checks all the boxes on the warning signs of a potentially unsafe group leader list http://www.culteducation.com/warningsigns.html

Dear EducatedIndian,

Just how educated are you? Why do you say you are educated? Educated about what? Why are you the administrator on a new age fraud forum? What does an Indian know about new age? If you were really a traditional Indian you would not be involved in new age.

Don’t you think being the administrator of a new age forum weakens your credibility as an Indian? I wonder if you even are an Indian.

Oh boy, you sure are confusing me.

Tell me – are you educated about Pa’Ris’Ha Taylor? Have you ever met her, or spoken to her in person? Somehow I doubt it.

Or, are you taking the word of a couple of white boys who appear to be seeking their fame and fortune as newspaper reporters by picking on Native Americans again. Why are you not researching those boys and finding out why they are so determined to make Indians look like idiots?

I have to say this - if you find out those white boys are the ones that have been lying, you’ll really make yourself look ridiculous.

I suggest you do your homework before you jump on the band wagon with those lads. I recommend you go read the Registration Agreement for becoming a member of this forum again. I suggest you draw upon the nobility of your Ancestors before you make any more uneducated judgments.

By the way, I really appreciate all the links in the messages on this forum to Pa’Ris’Ha’s websites, this greatly helps her search engine optimization and public visibility. I also appreciate you publishing all of her coaching packages for the world to see. You and Piff have been a wonderful help this week.  :)
