Yet another Brandt Secunda, it seems. The alleged elders named have conveniently passed on, with Wiley claiming they authorized him to bring in outsiders.

Wiley seems to be working with others making similar claims.

http://www.sacredfirecommunity.org/events.html
"The Sacred Fire Community announces that it is offering Boy's and Young Men's Initiation into Adulthood. This ritual will be open to young men from the ages of 16 to 25 by application process. The ritual will be guided by David Wiley, community elder, ritual leader, and healer in both the Huichol and Nahuatl traditions. He will be assisted by Dan Sprinkles also a shaman in both of these traditions and supported by a cast of men volunteers from the community.
For more information please contact Dan Sprinkles, dansprinkles@gmail.com or phone at 845-810-0200."

The president of Sacred Fire, who seems to be a franchisee of Wiley's.

http://www.iputney.com/article.php?story=20070220135104742
"Sherry [Morgan] has received her teachings about prayer from David Wiley, a shaman in the living tradition of the Huichol Indians of México. David works with the spirit of fire, known as Grandfather Fire. In addition to teaching prayer, Sherry is a Tiempera, or Weather Worker, in the Nahua tradition of Mexico. She was initiated into this tradition by the late Don Lucio Campos, a renowned healer and Weather Shaman of the Nahua tradition of México. Sherry is President of The Sacred Fire Foundation."

His claim to be a marakame is very trendy. Over a dozen similar claims just in the first 50 links.

And his claim to be a shaman in the "Tatewari" tradition? He makes it sound like another tribe when it's actually another Huichol word for fire.

Another "shaman" that claims to have been taught by the same people as Wiley teaches about money. Don't think I've ver seen a Nuager so blatant about their true interests.

"Mark Blessington helps people integrate personal finances with spirituality. My approach is rooted in indigenous spiritual perspectives. During my earlier career of 25 years I accumulated significant experience in the world of business and conventional financial thinking. While this background is useful in my current career, spirituality is my focus rather than “making more money.???
A major part of my spiritual training is in Nahuatl Weatherworking; I was initiated by Don Lucio Campos in Nepopualco, a small rural city in Morelos, Mexico in 2003. In this ancient tradition, Weatherworkers develop a deep relationship with the Goddess of the Sky. They start by learning to show gratitude for favorable weather.
From my training as a Weatherworker I have come to see that Divine is the source of all prosperity and abundance, whether it comes from bountiful harvests, a rewarding job or profitable investments."

David Wiley
Chairman

Before his spiritual calling, David worked as a management consultant in Atlanta, Georgia where he developed team performance models for clients and later became an international trade consultant within the U.S., Canada and México. In the mid 1990’s he underwent a series of life changing experiences that guided him to elders in both Nahua and Huichol work in México. These Peoples and their ceremonial leaders recognized an ancestral connection in David to their traditions and brought him into years of apprenticeship. He is now a Tsaurirrikame (fully initiated elder shaman) in the Huichol tradition and a Temachtian (elder granicero or “weather worker”) in the Nahua tradition. His primary responsibilities are as a counselor, traditional healer and ceremonial leader to his local, Tepoztlán, México, and international community (Sacred Fire Community) where he sits on a variety of councils and governing bodies.

Wiley's now franchising out his fraud. Moved to Frauds, and should have been there from the start.

Has Wiley not also been charged with sexual abuse?
