David Two Bears: Hustler
« on: March 25, 2008, 02:43:51 pm »
I first met this guy calling himself david 2 bears in about 1995. He had posted an Ad in the local paper saying he was forming a NA group. I attended figuring I could lend a hand with  some projects he might get going. There were about 12 white people there and about 2 women that looked to possibly be Indian. 2 bears looked Indian and was wearing some regalia. He said he was Lakota. I joined the group and helped out with a couple of projects. During this time, I saw an ID he had that said he was Lakota and he had a pipe. He did a few good things to his credit, including a clothing drive to a rez, organized a small pow-wow that pretty much fizzled and the group got into a grave fight. A 3000 year old guy, rather his remains,  was being held by Anthropologists. He was returned to his grave that was robbed. 2 bears did some kind of ceremony and used that pipe in the process. I saw this. At one point, he advertised in the paper that he was going to start a Lakota language class but I think that didn't pan out. He had bad financial problems, got married and that was trouble too and he moved on.

A couple of years later, I was at a pow-wow up in Bullet county and spoke with some Indian Vets about him. They all doubted he was an Indian and one guy told me he caught 2 bears spraying himself with tanning dye one time. Some time later, I spoke with a guy from 2 bears group and he said 2 bears had borrowed alot of money from him and never paid him back. I forgot about him until I joined this forum.

On 3/21/08, I spoke with a woman from the Native American Kentucky Resource Center. This outfit is out of Louisville - her name is Brenda and I can provide their phone number upon request. I told her who I was and asked if she knew or knew of david 2 bears. She said she knew of him but hadn't seen him around in a couple of years. I then shared with her what I knew of him and told her I had joined this outfit that exposes crooks. I asked her to tell me what she knew of him and this is what she told me:

She said several years ago in Bardstown, Ky 2 bears had formed a small group and had started up a security company called Navajo Security. He was telling people that he was Navajo. The NA Ky. Resource Center did some investigating then Brenda and few others, including a Navajo woman, drove to Bardstown and confronted him. Brenda said he quickly took the sign off his truck and left town and has not been seen since.

These are the facts on this guy. I guess he is a small time crook but you never know what they grow into. I doubt he will change his name so keep a sharp eye peeled for him.

Is this the same guy? The book seems to be only being sold in Britain.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/RED-TEARS-David-Two-Bears/dp/0595304273

But if you look down at the product description for this book, it seems to show someone seeking to convert others to Christianity.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lessons-Desert-Spiritual-Walk-JESUS/dp/1432715283/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1206476415&sr=1-1

The last book doesn't seem to be about spirituality.

A yahoo 360 page also seems to show him to be a devout Christian.

I think all the above may be a different person. This one below looks to be more likely.

The group he's part of, the NAITA, seems to show up mostly in searches with his name, or that of the Faraway Cherokee in Memphis.

Photos of their powwow.

There's also a group in Texas with the same name, NAITA, that doesn't seem related.

The ' 2 bears ' I knew was slick and crafty but I seriously doubt he could write a book so I would chalk that off. He did make some references to being a Christian at one time in his life and he did have some connections in TN, I know that, and he had some contacts out in Navajo land too. That one at the bottom, the group from Elizabethtown, KY - that's the one. When I knew him, he did not have a computer and had made the statement several times that he didn't like computers.  I looked at those pow-wow pictures and didn't see him or recognize anyone. The Vet that told me he caught 2 bears spraying himself claimed 2 bears was half African American and half Italian but there is no way to verify that but it would be a good way to slick dumb wannabes, that's for sure. The fact remains that he told me he was Lakota, showed me an ID that said he was, he had a pipe and used it in a fake ceremony on two occasions that I witnessed. I do not doubt the word of Brenda from that Indian outfit out of Louisville, that 2 bears had magically become Navajo and was slicking some more people, until caught, then he hit the road.m Thanks for your assistance in this matter and I will keep my eyes open for more crooks here in my neck of the woods.

I would very much like to be in a one on one relationship, but it is very scary today. One does not know what they are getting involved with. There are so many that are using drugs and I don't.Then there are those that like to drink alcoholic beverages, and I don't. Then there are those who go both ways sexually. Just finding one good faithful honest christian woman is tough in todays society.

My daughter met a man by the name of Rev. Bear - located in New Mexico in September 2012.  Her husband had died and she went on the internet to find a grieving workshop.  The most craziest things have happened since then.  She said she loved this man, took off to New Mexico with her grandson.  She finally came back in January, 2014 but she wants nothing to do with her family and the Rev. Bear is telling her what to do.  We do not know his real name, he apparently is a counsellor plus many other things.  My daughter is totally controlled by this man and we are very scared for her.  She has not spoken to her children and has informed us we are all evil.  If you know anything about this man or his whereabouts we would be very pleased to know as we have been trying now for one year and to this moment have not been able to find out anything.  I honestly believe that my daughter has been taken in by him - all she has ever called him is the Rev. Bear.  Please respond if you know anything.

Lisburn, this is probably the man you are looking for as he wrote a book about his experiences in the
desert in New Mexico.

His current email address is pastortwobears@live.com

Thanks to those that replied - we desperately need to find out if this man is one and the same.  I saw on google that the Rev. Two Bears is opening
up a shelter for children in New Mexico - and he had also appeared on a radio show - we have recorded phone calls from him and all we have is his
voice - there is presently a Court case going on so that my granddaughter can get her child back.  We need all the help we can get so that the lawyers
can find him.  We feel like we have been living a nightmare for the last 1 1/2 yrs all because of this but God willing it will all be OK soon.  We have to have
something to go to the police and the federal authorities about him so that we can determine his real name and his whereabouts.  From what we know he
is still in New Mexico.  Thank you all for your help.
