Kevin, there has always been frauds and pretenders. But I think in the last 25 years it has become much worse. People as you say, pretending to be Navy Seals, also the one just pretending to have been in a war zone, winning Congressional Medal of Honor. even just being a veteran. But further than that producing false documents of Colleges, Jobs and so on. It's has become more prevelant, maybe the documents are easier to obtain, I don't know. But the bottom line is for personal advancement. I don't thin the Plastic Shaman business is any different. And that goes for the NDNs that do this also, they know they are not suppose to, but choose to, not only for the money, but they are doing it with non-Ndns, both both here and in Europe, and as someone said before, they are treated like "Rock Stars". There will always be people that are die hard followers. All the Forum can do is offer the information to the people' that still have a brain. They can make up their own mind. So, IMO, it's just a matter of making the information available. The rest you have no control over what they choose to do.
