Sundays 01/25/2009, 2/22/2009, 3/22/2009 09:00 AM - 03:00 PM
$10 suggested donation for the EAC; love offering for Jorge
The sweat lodge ceremony is common to indigenous peoples all over the earth and is part of the ancestry of most of us if we trace our roots far enough back. It is an opportunity to turn off the outside world, experience our connection with the land, and journey deeply into ourselves. Arrival time before 9am is suggested; the estimated entry time is 10am. As always, please bring modest sweatlodge attire, a few towels and a healthy dish to pass. For more information e-mail lodgecouncil@gmail.com or contact Karen at 248-670-2560. Note: It is recommended but not necessary to pre-register for this event.
Jorge Arenivar is a beloved friend and trusted teacher of many within the EAC community. A native of Mexico currently living in St. Louis, Jorge is a sundancer and pipe carrier in the Lakota tradition and has been leading Inipi ceremonies at the EAC for many years.

Join us in this daylong workshop for individuals who wish to experience the opportunity of tying their own personal frame drum. Our guide for this intricate and demanding task is Jorge Arenivar of St. Louis, Missouri. A trusted spiritual teacher for many years, Jorge will help us to unlock and instill the unique rhythm that dwells within each of our personal drums. The drums we will fashion are beautiful and of the highest quality. The design is intricate and tight, and the culmination of your considerable effort will be a lifelong spiritual companion. The fee includes all materials, instruction, the drum itself & accompanying beater! An Inipi Ceremony will be held on the following day (Sunday morning) and drum builders are encouraged to attend. For further information call Scott at 248-506-5203.
