ok, i know some were decieved, i am not talking about them
i am talking about the ones who can have a real indian face to face tell them that what is being taught is wrong and they get mad and defend the fraud. why do they continue to think it's no big deal when us skins get offended but attack us when we stand our ground on anything spiritual? they get PISSED at me when they ask about pueblo religion....because i dont know much about it and what i do know i WONT tell them, because we are not supposed to. we are a very private people. we do NOT discuss what happens inside kivas or moradas, yet they keep asking and if they dont get an answer they will make one up. a typical discussion with your average white (not all) goes something like this:
white: can you tell me what this means.
injun: sorry, i would rather not....would you like some fry bread?
white: but i NEED to know, why wont you tell me? my friend who is lakota from vermont named grandfather buffaloturd wiseblood said that all spirituality needs to be shared. he should know, he is the crystal keeper of the hopi and lived amongst the chrokee.
injun: well sorry, your friend was wrong, how come i dont ever see him at pow-wows? at least the ones that indians go to anyways?
white: the correct term is native american, my great great grandmother walked the trail of tears
injun: whatever, anyways looks like there will be a crown dance exhibition during break....thas gonna be cool
white: yeah i am going to make my own crown dance costume for the next powwow, i am also making my daughter a drum so she can sit in with the cozads
injun: they are not for powwow, in fact they are religious, that's not a good idea you cant do that, and approaching a southern drum about putting a female, a non-indian child female at that is a vey BAD idea, why cant you just eat frybread and watch like everybody else?
white: well, i am going to do it anyways, grandpa buffaloturd told me over the internet that i can, what does crown dancing mean? and do you think they would let me contest with the fancydancers or should i just do the intertribals? maybe i can dance as a koshare clown!
injun: again, i dont discuss religion ok, i wont tell you what it means.
white: but the native americans have a lesson to teach us, their message is meant for everybody.
injun: seriously man, what is wrong with your OWN religion and customs. you have a rich history yourself, why dont you get involved with your culture? like i said why can't you just go to powwow, eat some frybread and observe?
white: because i RESPECT you
injun: *sigh*
ATTN TWINKIES: cultural rape is still rape and NO MEANS NO
