Charles Lawrence "Golden Eagle"
« on: May 01, 2013, 01:01:41 am »
Charles H Lawrence, born 1934 California, based in New York. International ceremony selling and drug tourism, including in Finland and Peru. Next event will be at Whidbey Island, Washington, USA.

He preaches the gospel of "you create your own reality" which is particularly disturbing when applied to sexual abuse, see the last quote here.

Quote
Charles Lawrence, traveled many years with the Elders of the Hopi, Coast Salish, Lakota, Seneca, Mohawk, Ojibway, Navajo and Shoshone Nations, as well as traditional practitioners of Peru, Finland, South Africa, Tuva and other First Nations peoples throughout the world. Charles, mixed European and First Nations descent; weaves Native American teachings and cross-cultural shamanic practices into his dynamic teaching style. Charles is one of the original trio who brought the once dormant ‘Naraya’; a dance of Spiritual Renewal, back to life.

Quote
He was adopted and baptized by the Hopi Indians some 20 years ago. The spokesman of the native thought came to Finland for the celebration of the Finnish association “Four Winds”.

Quote
The Sacred Pipe that I use in my circle is a representation of the cosmos, the great mystery. The sacred feminine, the bowl; the sacred masculine, the stem; when they are joined together and I tie on the eagle feather, it becomes the unifying principle of life: masculine, feminine and spirit. There are special medicinal herbs in the Pipe, both Hopi and Navajo

Quote
Years ago, when on Hopi, I was told that people came to visit because I made them laugh. I wondered if they were laughing at me or with me.

Groups of 10 or 15 visit Rivas's camp (cost for 11 days, including airfare, four all-night ayahuasca ceremonies and voluntary tip to the shaman: $2,000). Charles Lawrence, a New Yorker who brings visitors to Rivas, prepares them with a very '90s regimen: macrobiotic diets, sweat lodges and the carving of ceremonial staffs. When they arrive in Peru, the first order of business is a vivifying rubdown with cow dung.

Charles Lawrence - Golden Eagle - Isukuskun - He who travels from place to place connecting and carrying light of the future, shamanistic teacher
He is a Blackfoot of origin and adopted by Hopi grandma Carolyn Twangyawmama and he also represents many other Native American tribes. He is a shamanistic teacher and one of the founders of Four Winds. During the four first gatherings he was the ceremony leader.

I also met Charles Lawrence, with whom  had quite a confrontation. I told him how I felt about contrary elk medicine, about medicine men who misuse their power to violate women (crudely known as "humping a white woman in a sweat lodge"). What he told me was shocking, but now I know it is true. "You choose everything that happens to you," he said. He said to be thankful to all my teachers.

Charles Lawrence/Golden Eagle is a former businessman who was adopted by the Hopi 20 years ago. He is closely connected to the few remaining traditional Hopi Indians and has been their spokesman on many occasions.

Quote
Monthly meetings with our guide, Charles Lawrence, elicited clearer and clearer focus on our intentions in the jungle. Ayahuasca is called "la vina del muerte," the vine of death, and we were asked repeatedly to focus on those parts of ourselves we were preparing for death, those parts we would leave behind in the jungle.

Quote
Our bodies were prepared in other ways. For the month prior to the journey, we were to eat a shamanic diet of no meat and no sugar; no caffeine was probably even more difficult. Our diet was to concentrate on fresh vegetables and rice, with occasional fish and eggs.

This is interesting.  He works with Clyde Hall, who just today was mentioned in this thread:

The Clyde Hall mentioned on the site is possibly the same as discussed in this thread: http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?COLLCC=2527322940&topic=1558.msg9675, reply #2  Was re-enrolled into the Shoshone tribe in 2008, presumably after promising to 'stay off the internet'. This man?

He is listed as Blackfoot here (also along with Clyde Hall):

Yeah I was reading up on Clyde Hall http://danceforallpeople.com/about-clyde-hall/, and through looking at that site got interested in researching Charles Lawrence. There are others (including Clyde Hall) also worth researching looks like.

1990

Quote
JOENSUU, Finland — The marketplace in this Finnish border town was an incongruous pageant of feathers and beads, bandannas, fringed deerskin and painted shirts as Blackfoot/American Indian ceremonialist Charles Lawrence rattled his spirit staff, thereby signaling the opening of Joensuu's Meeting of the Worlds festival.

At his bidding, about 1,500 spectators held hands and mimicked his Navajo prayer, a mighty "ya-hey-ya-hey-ya" cutting across the Babel of languages in the square. The chant unleashed an affirmation of positive energy that remained the hallmark of the 31-concert international performance festival, held between June 19 and 23.

"We, as two-leggeds, must never forget the spirit. It is a spirit working through the people that will truly bring the greatest changes for the Earth," Lawrence, an Anaheim native, told the crowd.
