For anyone researching him, he says his original legal name was Eric L. Leshay:

For that matter, when I changed my legal last name, Eric L. Leshay was in fact supplanted by Eric L. Tashlin, an evolution of one aspect of self.

He's involved with fraud Raven Kaldera http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=3819.0

He has reorganized his website. The appropriative stuff used to be easier to find. Either he's buried the offensive lies where he says his sexual fetish for harming people is akin to Indigenous spirituality, or he's removed it. I'm not sure which.

He has been hired to give keynote addresses and lead rituals at LGBT events.  Not sure what he's doing in those rituals, or what he's telling people the rituals are.

He's certainly not for everyone, very socially transgressive. But I honestly believe him to be an authentic shaman. I've gone to him for divination and recieved helpful information. I've also benefited from the information he's put out there on transgender issues. Not to mention he looks badass.

Actually, if I'm totally honest I believe Eric Tashlin is also a genuine shaman. He's just a bad one who lacks integrity and I wouldn't recommend that anyone goes to work with him. So I figured he should be up here. I'm guessing you're all gonna be hugely pissed at me after reading these. But you can't claim he's stealing from native cultures because he claims he's doing a newly invented tradition. Weird huh?

"manicman,"

Raven Kaldera is a fraud and so is this Tashlin guy. They are both ripping off, mangling and misrepresenting Indigenous ways. They are just more clever about their marketing than many of the other frauds.

They both base their practices on Harner's work, which is a misrepresentation of Plains traditions. They dress it up with things taken salad-bar-like from other cultures as well, as do all of the pseudo-ethnic shameons, but it's Harner at its core. (No pun intended.) There are plenty of quotes in both the Kaldera thread and the Harner threads that establish this.  But once again, you care more about how these exploiters make you feel than the harm they do. Both these guys harm the cultures they steal from as well as the people who come to them. Read the threads.

As people have told you before, "manicman," as a white guy, and one who has shown himself to lack empathy for the victims of these frauds, you are in no position to declare whether someone is "the man" or "the real deal."

Noah/"Manicman"'s tangent has been moved to his intro thread, here: http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=4048.msg37373#msg37373

This thread is for researching the subject of this thread.

As RRH has said, Eric is involved with Raven Kaldera's group The First Kingdom of Asphodel. He currently is a director of the corporation, under the name of Eric Tashlin. In the 2004 Articles of Organization he was Eric Leshay.

MA corporation searches can be done here: http://corp.sec.state.ma.us/corpweb/CorpSearch/CorpSearch.aspx
