The American Indian Heritage Foundation is now a nonprofit registered in Tennessee. One of Rita's step sons Michael Henry Rose is an officer.
The American Indian Heritage Foundation was founded in 1973 by Princess Pale Moon, of Cherokee/Ojibwa heritage. The foundation has a two fold mission, to serve needy American Indian families and children with emergency provisions and to sponsor cultural events, bringing Indian people together, as well as to educate the public about the culture and traditions of our people. The multifaceted programs of the Foundation work to help American Indians achieve greater personal fulfillment and deeper pride in their heritage.
