In the fall of 2012, a group of friends collaborated to organize an internationally synchronized moment of meditation for International Day of Peace 2012. A good friend of mine who had previously supported the Hopi Water-Run Film Project, along with Patrick Kronfli, Founder of Medmob (meditation flashmobs), pulled together a stellar team of activists and luminaries to launch a platform called Unify.org for December 21, 2012 events across the globe.

Unify has continued to bring together other activists including Idle No More, 1 Billion Rising, Spiritual Elders, activists and artists to bring about positive social change. One year from their initial collaboration, the group came together again for International Day of Peace, and The Unify Story continues to unfold.

The essential fruit of Unify was not just seeding the globally synchronized meditation around the world, but also co-ordinating the filming and live-streaming the broadcast of those events.

"Population(s) served: Native Americans/American Indians, General Public/Unspecified"

That's pretty damn vague. And Burningman hippies are not Natives.

"Unify has continued to bring together other activists including Idle No More, 1 Billion Rising"

WHOAH. They are taking credit for IDLE NO MORE. What racist hubris. Idle no more was started by a group of Indigenous women and one non-Indigenous woman. They had nothing to do with it. One Billion Rising was a bunch of white women, again, not them. This is major misrepresentation and some men taking credit for the hard work of Indigenous and non-Indigenous women organizers. This is a bunch of lies for money.

Unify the World, out of Santa Rosa CA, needs to put all their financials online. They also need to be very clear about each fundraising campaign they run: who all is involved, who runs what organization, and exactly where all the money goes.

They run slick campaigns with dizzying interlocking partnerships. A lot of work goes into their web presence. Their global synchronized events, with online maps,  build a lot of buzz and interest.

PARTNER WITH US

By nature, UNIFY seeks to build alliances with organizations who share a vision of world peace. We have worked with hundreds of organizations to collectively weave the web of peace, and continue to seek new partners. We’d love to hear from you!

They encourage people to email them for more information on partnerships. Do partnerships involve money? Does Unify provide marketing for groups, how much does that cost, do they take a cut of all funds they raise?

http://www.home.unify.org/about

One of several current partnerships is with The Four Worlds International Institute/ Phil Lane Jr.
Jacob Devaney for Unify, is running a fundraiser for a playground and basketball court.

https://www.facebook.com/donate/1637537182986736/

Jacob Devaney has posted an image that he says "With your support, this is the playground that will be built in Wakpala for the children of Standing Rock". With an image search I was able to find it online for sale at various playground equipment websites. It runs about 10 thou.

So before I'd ever donate, I would want to know where the funds go. Does Unify get a cut, or all of it? What if they don't raise their goal, do they still keep the funds? When do they plan to install the playground equipment? Does the community even want the equipment there? What are the plans for construction and grounds? Will the equipment be safe, who will maintain it?

Patrick Kronfli, one of the founders of Unify the World, is running a fundraiser Rise for Syria, Global Prayer + Action Campaign : Underground Cave Hospital. He begins his fundraising pitch with:

Quote
Syria: Do we really need to say more…

Actually, he really does need to say a lot more about his fundraising campaign. We have no guarantee that our donations actually go to help people.
