Scotty Rojas AKA Scotty the Kid, StopKIDding.org
« on: May 24, 2018, 06:07:20 pm »
a Musician from San Francisco claiming to be Native calls himself scotty the kid, claiming Delaware and Arapaho.  I saw a picture he posted of himself in ahead dress and called him out on this.  If he is Native?  He knows nothing about the culture, those tribes do not wear head dresses!  Does anyone have any info on this fake??

His surname is Rojas.

His mother's surname is Meras, I believe this is her birth surname.

Native American isn't blood. It is what is in the heart. The love for the land, the respect for it, those who inhabit it, and the respect and acknowledgement of the spirits and elders. That is what it is to be Indian

Scotty LaKid on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/scottythekid He's getting called out on his ignorance there. I see lively discussion happening elsewhere also.

His claim:

Quote
I'm Native American! I'm Arapaho & Delaware Native. Ya'll need to check your facts before you keep coming at me. I grew up on the Tohono O'odham Res in Arizona.

I don't see any signs of his family members claiming this.

I saw your recent comments at that link five days ago, they were deleted after a while.

There is one critical comment left, one or two others which I noted a few days ago are now gone. This one is so good I want to quote it in case it goes away, too. And "lively discussion happening elsewhere" is at the link at the bottom of this quote:

[Name withheld]: Native American is blood. My people’s Original Sovereignty is in our blood and our DNA connection — our sacred spirit being connection to our dead people’s road. YOU don’t get to mess over that, non-native. You don’t have a blood connection to my ancestors therefore they would never communicate with our guide you. That is not the way that Origin Law works. And if you had one ounce of respect for First Nations culture, you’d stop making an idiot of yourself and take off that war bonnet. It is not yours to exploit! You have no right to dress up and play my culture. Excuse me, I forgot that being miseducated, ignorant and privileged makes you lost white people do the stupidest things. Take the headdress off. It’s not yours to exploit. Instead put on a caveman costume and parade around in that. Only them would you be paying homage to your true ancestors and their cave origins.

Scotty has recently shifted his focus from music towards "activism". He's currently deeply involved in the dangerous conspiracy theory movements QAnon and #SaveOurChildren that claim that a cabal of Satanists in Hollywood and government are kidnapping and eating children.

Recently, he started Stop KIDing, an organization that purports to rescue children from child trafficking. Currently it does not appear to have a 501(c)(3) status, so I am unsure where any of the funds are going.

Here is the website: http://www.stopkidding.org/
Here is Scotty's profile on the website: http://www.stopkidding.org/blog/post/112579/who-the-bleep-is-scotty-the-kid (Note that in the banner image he has a red handprint over his mouth, something that I believe he has taken from the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement.)

His Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ScottyTheKidMusic/) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/scottythekid/?hl=en) have been completely taken over with conspiracy theories and disinformation.

The anti-conspiracy theory comedy podcast QAnon Anonymous has an episode on how Scotty helped to organize worldwide conspiracy theory #SaveOurChildren marches. While it is a comedy podcast, the information they present is accurate.

Here is the episode: https://soundcloud.com/qanonanonymous/episode-108-the-unlikely-man-behind-the-worldwide-qanon-rallies

While this isn't the typical type of fraud that is discussed on here, I feel as though this is important to bring up. Scotty appears to be directly benefiting and possibly profiting from the spreading of dangerous misinformation and conspiracy theories. He also appears to be adopting a symbol from the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women's movement for his conspiracy theory movement. I am a white woman, so I do not get to decide how symbols associated with Indigenous are used, but the adoption of this symbol for something so obviously false rubs me the wrong way.

Length: 1:26:46. I'll quote the introduction there. Seems they believe in Scotty's claims about being Native American? My bolding:

Quote
"Scotty the Kid" is not your stereotypical QAnon supporter. A 30-year-old native American with a nose ring and lots of tattoos, the last 10 years of his life have been filled with hiphop gigs, fashion shoots and parties in Los Angeles. Then, in 2020, a series of things happened to Scott. This is the story of the unlikely man behind the recent worldwide "Save the Children" QAnon rallies.

None of Rojas's claims make sense. Latino surnames are not common among Arapahoe and certainly not among Delaware. There's no credible reason either people would live on an O'odham rez far away from both peoples.

Spreading falsehoods as a conspiracy theorist certainly makes him a fraud, harming many people with lies. Moved to Frauds.

....View says the Save Our Children movement appeared to have originated from a QAnon supporter, who was radicalised into conspiracy theory in June and helped the movement go viral on social media.

"The Save The Children movement was really initiated by a QAnon follower and struggling rapper named Scotty the Kid," he said.

"Many of the Save The Children rallies are essentially QAnon rallies, and they very cleverly disguise their conspiracy theory origins. They can easily attract people who might otherwise find QAnon off-putting."

Pro-Trump flags and a flag reading WWG1WGA, a reference to the QAnon slogan is seen on a truck.

In videos on social media, Scotty the Kid, who does not appear to be traditionally or overtly religious, speaks of "prophecies" such as folding a $10 which foreshadowed the September 11 attacks.

He also said that God was giving him direct messages about the Save Our Children movement....

FB is publicly saying they will take down all pages that push QAnon. Report Rojas's pages.

Rojas also has a GoFundMe fundraiser for Stopkidding.org. I reported it and urge others to do so too.
