I am surprised that Jan Engels Smith is not on here.   

Jan claims to have been adopted into a Lakota family and she attends their Sundance. She also claims to carry the Lakota songs and she runs a "Practicum" based on a traditional "Vison Quest" at this ceremony she uses many Lakota teachings and also as she claims to be a "Pipe Carrier"  at the closing part of the ceremony, she passes this pipe among the entire community to partake in.  She also claims to have been given the Lakota songs and they are sung at ceremonies. They also participate in there version of different Indigenous ceremonies, ie. Ghost Dance, and a Flying Drum to name a few.   And at the same time the school also claims to be "the new Mystery School on Earth"  see below quote from website.  It is taught in many classed that  Jan and Lightsong was "chosen" to be the New Mystery School"   Jan has also stated, that this Shamanic School, is the best and the only one that truly knows how to create a safe container.  She has also been known to bully or kick people out of the school if they question her teachings. 

She has written a few books as well, has a podcast on Shamanism and many online courses.  Her courses also are extremely expensive and she can make the choice whether or not you actually "passed" a class, based on her "spirits and insight"   And usually you don't pass until you sign a contract and pay more  money to take another class.

Supposedly they have a degree program that you can be part of and graduate with a "Masters In Shamanism"  however, very few actually ever graduate after years and years and money of attending the school and if questioned about how to actually graduate, there are many obstacles thrown in the way, or more classes that are needed.   

I could write more...but curious if others know of this school, this teacher or are interested in researching.

I believe it is the Buckhorse  Family somewhere up in Eastern Washington.   She has led Vision Quests and Sundances.  However she is not Native American at all. But she claims she was adopted into the Buckhorse Family.

Jan Engels Smith, Paul Sahayda Ghosthorse, Leonard Albert Mattern Jr/Buck Ghosthorse have been in cahoots for awhile now. All based on Mattern's original fraud.

I've listened more closely to this podcast https://lightsong.libsyn.com/storytime-with-jan-how-i-met-buck-ghosthorse that I've also written about on the Mattern/Ghosthorse thread.

Linda Neale (author of "The Power of Ceremony: Restoring the Sacred in Our Selves, Our Families, Our Communities") recruited Jan Engels Smith to this cult, in Oregon.

Jan Engels Smith laughs the entire time as she describes abuse from Mattern/Ghosthorse. Around the 28 minute mark of podcast she says people get yelled at and slapped regularly. She knew to react in a submissive manner. Rules were extraordinarily strict. She says she got yelled at and slapped for things that she didn't even know were "wrong".

She says spirits hit them with rattles. Which means people were hitting devotees with rattles.

Jan Engels Smith speaks in a racist, patronizing, generalizing way about "native people".

She portrays herself as special and elite.

Lightsong School is merged with the Ghosthorse fraud. Paul Sahayda/Ghosthorse is doing ceremonies with them.

Her devotee of 20 years who talks with her in this podcast pours adoration on Jan Engels Smith and Jan revels in it.

This is all fraud. Abusive, false, elitist.

For an added bonus, Jan Engels Smith States that "Light Song" is an actual female entity here on earth.

Janice W. Engels-Smith was licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas 1990 -2021.

She says she worked on a dissociative ward in Texas. She claims many of them were "satanically abused" and purposefully made into people with Dissociative Identity Disorder (she uses the older term "multiple personality disorder").
