Hello:
My name is Kim. I am 45, married, 2 children (21 & 24) I grew up in Nebraska and have lived in Colorado for about 10 years now.
My grandfather was 1/2 cherokee 1/2 irish..and was from Kentucky & Missouri then Nebraska
My grandmother was french canadian and choctaw, and she was from Missouri & Nebraska.
My mother or her siblings never talked about their heritage... they were embarassed by it. My grandfather died when I was young, but he gave me a name..and I barely remember some things, but I was just too young to know or remember... I so wish he was still alive today! My grandmother never discussed things with me either, but I have heard from older cousins that they were both very involved in traditions.
I have always wanted to learn, but want to learn the right way and after reading at the website, and listening to one man talk, that there are alot of frauds out there... so sad!
